Servicing
through to
full builds.
Subaru and Nissan specialists. Everything from an oil change to a turbo conversion, done by one set of hands that have been doing this for twenty-six years.
One workshop, both ends of the job
Most shops pick a lane. We service the daily driver and build the weekend car, and it's the same eye for detail either way.
Routine servicing
Oil and filter, fluids, plugs, belts. Scheduled servicing for Japanese makes, with a written report on anything we spot while it's up.
Brakes & clutches
Pads, discs, lines and hydraulics. Clutch replacement including performance and heavy-duty setups.
WOF repairs
Failed a warrant elsewhere? Bring us the sheet. We fix what's on it and get the car back through.
Tyres & balancing
In-house tyre machine and wheel balancer. Fitting, balancing and swaps done on site — no sending the car across town.
Fault finding
Electrical and driveability diagnostics on Japanese and Ford platforms. We find the cause rather than replacing parts until it stops.
Fabrication & blasting
In-house stainless and alloy TIG welding for exhausts, intakes and brackets. Small-scale sand blasting for parts prep.
The gear behind the work
Five tuning platforms under one roof. Most Christchurch workshops run one. It means we're not limited to whatever software we happen to own — we tune the car on the platform it should be on.
SDM is Shane David Murray
The name isn't a brand somebody bought. It's initials.
Shane walked out of his job at twenty-six and never went back to working for anyone else. He fixed cars out of a home garage, then took on a workshop in Bromley, and has been at the Maunsell Street site by the tannery for the last eight years.
The work he's known for is Skylines, drift builds and turbo conversions — including a thousand-horsepower GTR. The same standard goes on a Legacy having its oil done. That's the whole pitch, and fifty-odd reviews at 4.9 stars suggest it holds up.
